If you are discussing cloud computing migration with your coworkers and team, it’s a safe bet that cloud data security is a big part of your discussion.
As more companies are turning to cloud computing over traditional data servers, the demand for security tools is rapidly increasing. Data security tools were specifically developed to monitor data that moves between a cloud storage environment to a cloud platform.
Examples of these tools include:
- Malware protection
- Protection from unauthorized downloads
- Fraudulent use detectors
Forrester states that through the year 2021 we can expect these kinds of security solutions to increase steadily (by roughly 28%) a year. These increases are likely to increase from a cost of $1 billion to $3.5 billion during this same timeframe.
This seems like a large sum of money at first; however, not so much considering the total spending for the public cloud market is likely to be $236 billion by 2020.
