On September 15, 2015, Salesforce announced their newest cloud-based processing platform: the IoT (Internet of Things) Cloud. According to Salesforce, this new platform allows businesses to “harness the power of the Internet of Things and turn the data generated by every one of [their] customers, partners, devices, and sensors into meaningful action.”
The Internet of Things includes any device with data receiving capabilities (watches, televisions, cell phones, etc.), and the IoT Cloud provides businesses with data from all of them. Not only that, the IoT Cloud helps businesses trek through the pile of data once it’s been collected. This allows businesses to act more personally when it comes to serving their clients and utilize the data that is most useful for specific times and purposes.
With this new cloud’s ability to connect with other Salesforce platforms, and share data between them, the IoT Cloud is sure to aide businesses looking to harness the potential of the Internet of Things and make it work positively for their business goals.
